JUNIOR members of the Bourton Roadrunners were in cross-country league action at the weekend in muddy conditions.
A wealth of young runners took to Cotswold Farm Park for race three of the Gloucestershire Amateur Athletic Association cross-country league series and here is how they got on.
Under 17 boys
Freddy Samson once again had a good run as he returns to full fitness after a long-term injury, he finished a very respectable 13th.
Under 15 boys
Good performances once again from Oliver Robertson in 28th and Noah Alyn-Jones in 38th
Under 13 boys
Edward Hare was in the leading group for the whole race but in the finishing straight there was a big sprint finish and he finished 6th. William Harvey also ran well as one of the youngest in the race to finish 23rd
Under 11 boys
William Bell ran very well in this big competitive field to finish 18th
Under 13 girls
Hannah Roddick is improving race by race and her confidence and strength grow. She finished 20th.
Elsewhere, there was a big turnout for the senior members at the recent Chipping Norton Park Run event at the start of January.
The club was led home by a stunning performance by one of the junior members, Edward Hare, who finished sixth overall in a brilliant time of 19 minutes and 58 seconds for the 5 km course.
Hare was also first in the Junior Men 11-14 category. He was followed by in-form Alex Pye (9th) – 20:24 and Tim Carter (11th) – 21:27, who were first and second respectively in the veteran men 35 category.
