MORETON Rangers stunned Hellenic League Premier side Fairford Town in the first round of the Gloucestershire County Cup with a 3-0 victory.
Fairford, currently ninth in the Hellenic League Premier, travelled to the Cotswolds as favourites but it was Division One side Moreton that progressed to the second-round in style.
The victory provided Moreton with just a fourth win this season in all competitions to put themselves into the hat for the second-round.
It will provide some much-needed confidence for a Moreton side struggling in the 2023/24 campaign.
They sit second-bottom of the Hellenic League Division One but after this mid-week win, they will be hoping to carry that form into the league. But they are now not in action again until November 17th when they host title-chasing Malmesbury Victoria.
