MORETON Rangers' winless start to the 2023/24 Hellenic League Division One season continued in mid-week as they suffered a 4-1 defeat at home to FC Stratford.
After their opening day win over Sporting Club Inkberrow, Moreton have not won a game since, a run that has stretched to nine games.
They have lost eight of those nine and in the last three matches, they have shipped 13 goals after a morale-boosting 1-1 draw with Kidlington Reserves last month.
Tim Oyanda's second-half hat-trick ensured the visitors eventually saw off the Moreton challenge, who had been level at the break.
But Stratford managed to break their resolve in the second-half and three goals from Oyanda did the damage as Moreton fell to yet another defeat.
Jude Hill had put the away side in the lead but hopes of Moreton getting something from the game were raised just before the break, but it was not to be and it was a third consecutive defeat for the hosts.
They came into the game on the back of their loss at Tytherington Rocks on Saturday, where Jake Peters' goal was not enough to salvage anything.
Levelle Bishop put the home side ahead and a brace from Kyle Head handed them all three points.
After ten games in the 2023/24 season, Moreton sit second-bottom with just four points and a -30 goal difference.
Their next game is on Saturday when they make the trip to Tytherington for their Challenge Cup encounter, where they will be hoping a change of competition might bring some more fortune.
