PAXFORD Garage owner Clive Wadey returned to Darley Moor in the British Historic Racing Championship for Air Cooled Solos up to 500cc.
Riding his Suzuki GSX 1170 and starting the opening race at the Derbyshire circuit from 30th position, Blockley’s Wadey flew up to fifth on the first corner and led by the start of the second lap.
Wadey’s advantage only lasted for two laps as the bike misfired, but he held on for third place.
He again had to start 30th for the second race, but again motored up to first before being edged into runners-up position by one second.
