NORTH Cotswolds Young Cricketers under 15s have found form to sit second in the Cotswold District Association League with three games left to play.
Sam Groves blasted 106 in a 94-run win over Fairford and shared in an opening partnership of 168 with James Icke (63 not out).
The flourishing club, now based in Moreton-in-Marsh, have played 28 games so far this season at under 11s to 17s levels, while the under 19s will start their Gloucestershire Natwest T20 campaign at home to Cirencester on July 26 (11am).
Non-executive chairman Rupert Bell, a radio and television broadcaster, said: “This season is showing we are able to offer youngsters a decent quality of cricket with fantastic playing facilities at our new home in Moreton.
“While I haven’t been able to watch that many games so far, I am kept well informed of how the teams are performing and I’m also delighted to hear we are putting another batch of potential stars through to Gloucestershire for trials later next month.”
