CHASTLETON horse trainer John Gallagher enjoyed his first across-the-card double with same-day victories at Newbury and Epsom.
Newbury winner Alpha Delta Whisky is owned by the Juniper Racing Club, who include The Mill House Hotel proprietors Paul and Maria Drinkwater and Rick Allen.
The seven-year-old chestnut gelding, priced at 9-1, claimed a fifth victory on the flat by one-and-a-quarter lengths from Head Space (8-1) under jockey Patrick O’Donnell.
Meanwhile, four-year-old Iseemist also bagged a fifth success, this time at Epsom, with Joey Haynes on board. Priced at 11-2, the grey filly held off Desert Command (6-1) by one length in a close finish.
Previously, Gallagher also recorded a winner at Brighton through Ada Lovelace (15-8). It means from its last 10 runners, the stable has registered three winners with eight receiving prize money.
Condicote trainer Martin Keighley’s seven-year-old charge Mortlestown (8-1) secured a first success over jumps at Newton Abbot with jockey Andrew Tinkler.
