FORMER Gloucester scrum-half Nick Runciman has agreed to head the coaching team at Stow-on-the-Wold Rugby Club for the forthcoming season.
Runciman progressed through Gloucester's academy before joining Worcester for three seasons, moving to London Welsh and returning to Kingsholm but injury curtailed his time at the city club.
He also represented England at under 21s level and the Barbarians.
Having been promoted into Southern Counties North last season, Stow were determined to continue the momentum and finished a creditable sixth place.
With the experience of Cheltenham-born Runciman, who is now 28, the Oddington Road club aim to push on and members are excited about the future.
Pre-season training is due to start in the first week of July and new players are welcome.
Stow hold their annual meeting at the clubhouse on Wednesday, June 18, at 7.30pm.
