TEMPLE Guiting School pupils are one step away from Twickenham after qualifying for the south-west regional tag rugby finals.
More than 250 pupils from 21 schools in Gloucestershire took part in the county finals at Old Cryptians, Gloucester, as part of the Sainsbury’s School Games.
The annual competition is organised by Active Gloucestershire, the Rugby Football Union and school games organisers while being supported by volunteers from the University of Gloucestershire, Lakers, Churchdown, Newent School and Hartpury College.
A dramatic final saw Gloucester’s Heron School and Temple Guiting locked level at full-time.
The match went to golden-try extra-time before Heron School eventually broke the deadlock to win the contest.
But both teams progressed to the regional finals at Taunton School on Wednesday, June 18.
Cold Aston Primary School finished fourth in the competition.
