SHIPSTON SUPERTEAM has held on to their top spot to win the Shipston/ADDAC Winter League.

Every single competitor caught fish in the final round, meaning the final positions hung in the balance right up to the final whistle.

The teams had to change venue for the final round, due to the effects of Storm Bert. The competitors were spread over three pools at Aston Magna.

The final round was won outright by Andy Bruce (competing for ADDAC), reeling in a catch of 33 lb.

The result just edged Shipston Superteam's Nigel Davis, whose top catch weighed in at 29 lb 4 oz.

Stuart Fleming of Shipston Superteam won his section with a catch of 6 lb 6 oz, just beating out ADDAC's Graham Finch with a catch of 5 lb 5 oz.

In the final pool, Tony Avery of ADDAC took the win with a catch of 8 lb 12 oz, while Aidy Icke of Shipston Gold and Phil Outram of GKW shared the second-placed spoils, with their catches weighing in at 6 lb 4 oz each.

The final round saw the battle for victory go right down to the wire, with Shipston Superteam just holding on to their lead by two points - finishing with 45 points in total.

ADDAC finished second with 43 points, with Shipston Gold taking the bronze on 32 points.

GKW finished with 27 points, while Lamb Donnas ended with 26 points.

Nigel Davis of Shipston Superteam won the individual Dabber Jones Trophy.
