LOCAL cricket club Shipston on Stour have confirmed the death of long-serving president John Bradley aged 75.
In a statement released on their Facebook page, the club said Bradley died "peacefully and calmly" last week.
"Shipston on Stour CC are today (Sunday) mourning the passing of their biggest supporter and President John Bradley. Brads never fully recovered from the pneumonia he contracted just a couple of months ago.
"The family wanted us all to know that he passed at the end as peacefully and calmly as was possible in the company of his closest family. The hospital staff went above and beyond doing all they could for John for which the family will always be grateful for.
"Brads as we all knew and appreciated was the biggest fan of Shipston on Stour CC and we were in his thoughts and heart to the end. His enthusiasm for his club and particularly for local youth cricket knew no bounds and even yesterday he was eulogising how well the club were doing in bringing on young players to continue Shipston's standing as a much respected local cricket club."
The details of the funeral will be released in due course
