THE speaker at the February meeting was Diane Clement, introduced by chairman, Jonathan Collins.
Diane is a member of many plant societies, including the Alpine Garden Society and is Director of the Seed Exchange for the AGS. Diane also runs workshops on digital photography and making digital presentations. The presentation we were privileged to see was testament to Diane’s expertise in this area in addition to her considerable knowledge of Alpine plants. We were taken on four virtual walks through breath-taking mountain scenery with Alpine flowers shown in wonderful colours. The presentation included an informative section on growing Alpines in our gardens.
Following an appreciative thank you from the chairman and audience the evening concluded with the raffle draw and competition results. The competition winner was David Price.
Come and join us for our 2015 programme which includes a Mickleton Gardens Open Evening, outings to some well-known gardens, Spring Show and Annual Show, social events and presentations. The next meeting is on March18th at 7 p.m. in the King George’s Hall.
