MORE visitors are expected to flock to Cotswold villages, including Bourton-on-the Water now a new bus service has been installed at Moreton train station.
Up until now, rail passengers have needed to navigate their way into Moreton-in-Marsh town centre to catch a bus to nearby tourist attractions.
Thanks to a closer partnership between First Great Western and Gloucestershire County Council, a bus stop has been introduced at the station to pick up rail customers making onward journeys into the heart of the countryside.
Station manager, Teresa Ceesay said: “With hourly services to top destinations including Bourton, Stratford and Cirencester, their is no easier and more relaxing way than travelling by public transport.”
The need to bring the local bus services into the station was first discussed with Gloucestershire County Council a few years ago.
It is so good to see the plan come together and it shows that by working alongside the council we have made it happen and it will benefit both the local community and our many visitors.
