TRIBUTES have been paid to Lady Maureen Josephine Therese Fellowes, of Chipping Campden, who has died at the age of 92.

Born Lady Maureen Noel in London in 1917, she worked in Washington, USA during World War Two and was employed at the American Embassy, in London, afterwards.

She married Lord Charles Dormer in 1944 and went to live with him at Grove Park, Warwick.

They had two daughters, Jane and Catherine, before Lord Charles died in 1975.

She was remarried, in 1982, to Peregrine Fellowes who died in 1999.

Lady Fellowes had three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The devout Roman Catholic was renowned for her charity fundraising, particularly for The London Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth.

She moved to Campden in 1978 to live in The Dower House on the Noel Estate, which is where the Noel family’s ladies traditionally retire to.

Lady Fellowes, a Dame of the Order of Malta, died peacefully at home and her funeral was held at St Catherine’s Church, Campden.

She was buried, alongside her first husband, at Grove Park.

Her daughter, Jane Glennie, said Lady Fellowes was devoted to her family.

She said: “She was the world’s best mother who really cared for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.”
