FOR the second year, Brailes villagers have bared all for charity.
Last year, they published the Brailes Naked Calendar, which contained 12 photographs of naked residents and raised £10,253.53 for Cancer Research.
The anniversary of the calendar’s launch saw the group of more than 20 villagers strip off again when Lizzie Melvin, Cancer Research’s local co-ordinator, visited Brailes to receive a £10,253.53 cheque from Jane Bennett, who devised the calendar.
This time, the naked residents were photographed for a Christmas card that will be sold to raise funds to buy a much-needed heart defibrillator, which will cost about £3,000.
The villagers stripped off in a chilly barn for the photograph, which also featured a piano, two donkeys, Santa and a Christmas tree.
George Scholes, of Brailes High Street, sponsored the production of the card, which is being sold in and around the village in packs of five costing £4 each.
Lizzie said the villagers did not expect to raise so much money. “I would like to say a big thank you to all the people who were brave enough to strip off and all those who bought the calendar through the year,” she added.
