POLICE have seized three cars and issued a fine after a driver failed to stop in a Cotswold town in a night of action.

The officers were patrolling Moreton, Mickleton and Chipping Campden on Saturday, November 30.

Officers seized two cars which had no tax and another from a driver who had been speeding without a driving licence and insurance.

A fine was given to a driver in Chipping Campden after they failed to stop.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Constabulary said: "North Cotswolds Neighbourhood Policing Team members have been working with members of our Special Constabulary covering the areas of Moreton-in-Marsh, Chipping Campden and Mickleton as part of operation Flare, the start of our Christmas drink & drug driving campaign.

"Multiple breath tests were conducted and officers were pleased that all results came back negative.

"Other motoring offences were found by PC Poole and his colleagues.

"A total of three vehicles ended up being seized.

"Two for no car 'tax' and a third which had been stopped for a speeding offence was found to be being driven without the correct driving licence or any insurance.

"The drivers of these cars and vans will be summonsed to court in due course.

"To end the night officers issued a fixed penalty notice to a driver who had failed to stop in Chipping Campden High Street.

"Huge thanks to our special constabulary colleagues who gave up their Saturday evening to support this road safety effort."
