9 dogs at Dogs Trust Evesham looking for forever homes
Mickey
Age – 6-12 months
Breed – Labrador Retriever cross
Mickey is going to be a big dog when he’s fully grown so if he’s rehomed by a family with children, they’ll need to be of a secondary school age and happy around a big and boisterous puppy.
He would prefer to live with another dog but this isn’t essential. He’ll need help with his training as the centre said: “He loves spending time with other dogs but does get very frustrated seeing them out and about on walks as he doesn’t yet realise he can’t say hello to every pooch.”
It’s not clear if Mickey has ever lived in a home as he was found as a stray but he’s ready to join a family now.

Jakey
Age - 12 years
Breed - Border Terrier
Jakey is looking for his retirement home where he could live with children who are of secondary school age as he's not lived with children before.
Dogs Trust said: "Jakey can’t see very well, which does mean he can bark at other dogs and has struggled socialising.
"However he has met a quiet, tolerant dog out in foster and had a lovely walk together so this seems to be a great way in building his confidence although still needs to remain the only dog in the home."
Jakey could live with a cat and his ongoing medical considerations due to his age will be discussed with potential adopters.

Hartley
Age – 2 years
Breed – Beagle cross
Hartley was found as a stray and is now looking for a new home where he could live with children over the age of eight and potentially another dog who is fine with his rough playstyle.
He can’t live with any cats and would need a secure garden so he can explore.
Hartley can be quite vocal when he’s left alone, which is typical of his breed, so time alone will need to be built up.

Things to consider before adopting a pet
Ramsey
Age – 6 years
Breed – Crossbreed
Ramsey is looking for a quiet home as he has some noise sensitivities. He is really friendly with people but he gets worried around small children so he can’t live with them, but secondary school age children are fine.
He needs to be the only dog in his new home but he can have walking friends. He can get frustrated around other dogs so quieter walks would be better.

Molly
Age - 12 years
Breed - Jack Russell Terrier cross
Molly would like to find the perfect retirement home. She came to the centre through no fault of her own and enjoys cuddling up on the sofa in her current foster home.
She could possibly live with another dog if they mix well at the centre.
Molly is on medication for her arthritis and can't live with cats, small furry animals or livestock.

Percy
Age – 2 years
Breed – Border Collie
Percy can’t live with children as he prefers a hands-off approach but he could live with sensible teenagers.
He was found as a stray and needed multiple vet visits when he came to the centre so he’s already been waiting a while for his new home.
Percy needs to be the only pet in his new home and he’d like a secure garden.

Carter
Age – 4 years
Breed –Jack Russell Terrier cross
Carter is looking for a quiet and adult-only home and he’ll need to be the only pet, but he could enjoy some walks with other calm and well-matched dogs.
He has shown some signs of resource guarding so his new family will need to help him manage this with some training.

Harry
Age – 4 years
Breed – Greyhound
Harry has retired from racing and is now looking for a family to settle with.
He has no history of living with children but could live with those of secondary school age as long as they are sensible while he settles in.
Harry would like to live in a moderately busy household with a garden and he could share his new home with a bigger, preferably female, dog if they mix well at the centre.
Dogs Trust adds: "Due to his natural prey drive, Harry cannot share his home with cats and other small furries."

Tilly would like to live in a quiet and adult-only home. A rural location would be ideal as she likes the peace and quiet of countryside life.
She needs her own space in her new home as she has some worries over handling and doesn’t like to share her sleeping spots.
Tilly needs to be the only pet in her new home but she could walk with some other dogs as long as they meet on leads first.
She needs a secure garden because she loves to be outside and play.
