TWO abandoned cars have been found in Cotswold Villages.

Police have discovered an abandoned Nissan 4x4 in South Cerney and an abandoned Audi in Bourton on the Hill.

The Nissan was found on November 8 and the Audi was found on November 10.

Police have since appealed to the public regarding any more cars they think might be abandoned as that could be being used illegally.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Constabulary said: "If you think that a vehicle has been abandoned in your community any of us can check whether it has a current MOT or excise licence (aka taxed).

"The absence of MOT or tax is more likely to suggest it is abandoned or being used illegally.

"Such vehicles can be most easily reported to us via our website and will be followed by your local PCSOs.

"Last Friday PCSO Bev Rowe seized this Nissan 4x4 in South Cerney after she established that it had no current keeper, insurance or MOT.

"On Sunday PC Sam Poole seized the Audi from Bourton-on-the-hill in similar circumstances.

"Are any of us really fans of drivers who don't pay for their insurance or road tax?"
