A group of eight-week-old kittens were found dumped in a box in a wooded area in Oxfordshire.

One of the abandoned animals, Kitty, who is now eight months old, was nursed back to health by Cherwell Cats Protection.

They said: "She was found in a box in the woods with her siblings at eight weeks old and has had rather a rough ride."

Kitty is affectionate and 'very, very confident', said the charity (Image: Cherwell Cats Protection) The charity is now looking for a prospective adopter for Kitty who is "affectionate, very very confident and just wants to be cuddled".

She is still "very petite" and can only eat veterinary approved AVA wet and dry food.

However, she could be housed with another calm cat or dog, they said.

Cherwell Cats Protection was formed in 2006 and is run by a small team of "dedicated, cat-loving" volunteers.

It aims to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home as many of the lost, unwanted and abandoned cats and kittens across the Cherwell area, including Banbury, Bicester, Brackley, Chipping Norton and surrounding communities.
