FIREFIGHTERS have tackled a blaze at a hotel in a Cotswold market town.
The incident happened at The Stag and closed the hotel for hours in Stow on October 25.
Both police and fire services swiftly attended the scene after reports of a chimney fire.
The scene was cordoned off and firefighters used a ladder to tackle the fire.
A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a chimney fire at The Stag in Stow-on-the-Wold at 12.38pm on October 25.
“Three engines, from Stow-on-the-Wold, Morton-in-Marsh and Gloucester North, were sent to the scene.
“The fire was extinguished and the stop message was received at 3.05pm.”
The Stag has been approached for a comment.
A Gloucestershire Constabulary spokesperson said: "Stow local policing team supported Gloucestershire Fire crews today (October 25) while they dealt with a chimney fire in Stow on the Wold.
"The fire was successfully dealt with allowing the premises to re open shortly afterwards."
