A care home's dementia café is continuing to grow.

Southerndown Care Home in Chipping Norton runs the monthly event in partnership with Dementia Oxfordshire.

The café, which is free to attend, is held on the second Tuesday of every month.

It provides social support and guidance for families and carers, as well as entertainment, games, and food.

Guests also have the chance to meet other carers and families supporting loved ones living with dementia, and receive free information talks from key roles in the community.

Arlene Acuavera, general manager at the care home, said: "We’re so happy that our free event has been a huge hit for the community.

"The condition itself can be quite lonely and frightening, and the more support we can provide to each other, the better.

"Our next Dementia Community Café will be on Tuesday, September 10, for anyone who would love to come along."

The care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering high-quality care across its care homes and hospitals.

Southerndown provides nursing care, residential care, and respite care.
