The clock tower of a historic landmark is set to lift off in phase one of a programme of conservation works.
The clock tower will be removed from the Grade II listed Redesdale Hall in Moreton on Thursday (October 10).
The hall, which was featured in a painting by L.S. Lowry and was the location chosen by Elton John to launch his record label, Rocket Records, in 1973, has served as a town hall and venue for community gatherings for generations.

The crane will be on site on Thursday, and will lift the weathervane out first, then the cupola roof in one piece.
The rest of the structure will be dismantled to be safely lowered to ground level in individual pieces, as the joints have become very insecure as the timber has deteriorated.
Nick Loat, chairman of the Redesdale Hall Trust, said: "The building has only recently transferred ownership from the town council to a newly established trust.
"Our aim is to bring the hall up to modern accessibility and environmental standards whilst conserving its beautiful heritage.
"The clock tower is in immediate and urgent need of repair, and we are delighted this first phase of the overall project is underway."
