Tewkesbury's answer to Bicester Village and 'a must-visit destination' for shopping has announced when it should be opening.

After nearly a year of building, Cotswold Designer Outlet has announced when it hopes to open - and it's sooner than you think.

While the completion date for the whole project has not been announced and aerial pictures show that there is still work to do, owners are confident phase one will open in spring 2025.

Three-quarters of the retail space has already been committed to fashion, lifestyle and F&B brands.

This will mean there will be over 55 stores - though brands are yet to be announced.

Cotswold Designer Outlet currently has over 100 people working on its construction just off the M5 motorway in Tewkesbury and will create around 500 new jobs for the community.

Speaking in July, Christine Grace, leasing director at Multi-Realm said: “We’ve had a very positive response from retailers and F&B operators who want to be part of the opening line-up at one of the only new outlet destinations opening in the UK next year, and a chance to showcase their brands in this ‘gateway to the Cotswolds’.

"It is testament to the quality of the Cotswolds Designer Outlet design, location and the premium guest experience we’re creating, that we are already 75% exchanged or in legals, this far ahead of opening."

Little is known about what shops will be in Cotswold Designer Outlet but readers have made suggestions such as Pull&Bear, Zara, Mango, Urban Outfitters, Lululemon and Disney.

Others have suggested a mixture of affordable shops like Next and Marks and Spencer alongside higher price outlet shops.

Speaking in July, property and development director Simon Tothill said: “There’s been remarkable progress on site being delivered by the team at Bouygues UK, and we’re delighted to share these new drone videos to truly give a sense of the scale and the setting of the new designer outlet destination.

"There’s been a tremendous effort behind the scenes from the team at Robert Hitchins and our leasing and operating partner Multi-Realm, to curate a line-up of fashion, lifestyle, homewares, sports and F&B brands that will make Cotswolds Designer Outlet a must-visit destination and day out in this key location at Tewkesbury."
