A new event is set to combine horse riding with fundraising near Temple Guiting.

The first-ever Agria Ride will be held on the weekend of October 19-20.

The event will be fundraising for three charities: Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), Redwings Horse Sanctuary, and Retraining of Racehorses (ROR).

The ride will take place on the private estate of Cotswold Farm Park, near Cheltenham, which is owned by Countryfile presenter Adam Henson.

The event is open to all riders, not just those with horses or pets insured with Agria.

Riders aged four and above can tackle a 10-mile route on their own horses, with optional shortcuts available to reduce it to seven miles.

The route includes a range of optional fences between 20cm and 80cm in height.

Entry is £26 per adult and £21 for children aged four to 17, with £10 from each entry being donated to the charities.

Each rider will also receive a rosette upon completion, free professional digital photographs, and a choice of tea, coffee or a soft drink.

Paralympic dressage rider Natasha Baker, who is sponsored by Agria, said: "There is nothing better than a great hack with good friends for both horse and riders’ wellbeing, so what a brilliant way this is to raise funds for three important charities."

Agria UK's CEO, Vicki Wentworth, said: "We are thrilled to be joining the other Agria territories across Europe to raise money for some incredible equine charities.

"Agria is all about supporting horses and riders to be as happy and active as possible through the whole of their lives, and the Agria Ride embodies much of that.

"This is just our latest rider benefit – celebrating the partnership between them and their horses."

Henson said: "We are very much looking forward to hosting the Agria Ride in October, which will combine our usual brilliant riding with other benefits for participants, and fundraising for three wonderful charities.

"Having supported Agria’s charity initiatives for dogs in the past, I am delighted to now be involved in their fundraising in the horse world."
