A DAIRY farm owned and run by a family for more than seven decades has been up for sale.

Park Hill Farm in Halford bordering the Cotswolds has been put on the Market by the Long family after 77 years.

The farm has been given a guide price of £4.25 million which consists of 267 acres with direct access to the River Stour and three residential buildings.

The residential properties at the farm are Park Hill Farmhouse, a three-bedroomed Victorian house, Elmedene, a three-bedroomed, extended, Banbury bungalow and Wagtail Farmhouse, a recently built, four bedroomed house with planning consent for an extension.

Sarah Hulland, director of Halls in Kidderminster and Richard Abbey, from Earles, Henley in Arden, joint agents, said: "This an excellent opportunity for a purchaser to take on and further develop the farm, perhaps diversifying.

"There are opportunities for barn conversions and perhaps redevelopment for residential use of the original farmyard, subject to planning consent.

"With three residential properties and extensive dairy buildings, the farm has great potential for alternative enterprises and uses."

The joint agents have encouraged anyone who is tempted in investing in the farm to view it first my appointment.

The decision to sell the farm after 77 years was made by John and Rosie Long who farmed with their son Rob but have now decided to retire.

The farm was bought by the Long family in 1947, initially milking Guernsey and Shorthorn cows on 108 acres.

In 1968, John and Rose took over and went into a partnership with other family members the following year.

Located on exactly 266.63 acres, the farm consists of three main blocks most of which is above the floodplain.

The guide price also includes five acres of woodland and a herd of "Wagtail" prefix cows.

The farm can look after 500 cows and can produce more than 17,000 litres of milk each day.
