Jeremy Clarkson has rubbished claims of “traffic chaos” on the opening day of his new Oxfordshire pub.

The former Top Gear presenter revealed earlier this year that he had purchased The Windmill in Asthall, near Burford for around £1,000,000.

Now named The Farmer’s Dog, the watering hole opened at midday on Friday as hundreds of tourists came to the county to test out pints of Hawkstone and the new menu.

The 64-year-old was joined by partner Lisa Hogan and fellow Clarkson’s Farm stars Kaleb Cooper, Gerald Cooper and Charlie Ireland as he opened the doors on Friday afternoon.

He denounced the idea of traffic problems as he addressed the crowd of fans outside the new pub.

“Grab yourselves a pint and some great food,” he said.

“Enjoy yourselves, it’s a nice day and there’s no traffic chaos.

“It’s all good news.”
