"It was our best year yet" said a fishing and music festival organiser after high levels of community support from a Cotswold village.
Fish n Frolics, an event that mixes fishing with music brought Shipston's community together on July 27 with live music and food stalls capping off weeks of catching fish.
The event, which has been an annual tradition in Shipston for over a decade raises money for the Shipston Young Anglers and introduces children to the sport.
Stuart Fleming, organiser of Fish n Frolics, said: "We started the event 11 years ago to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the angling club and it was going to be a one-off but it was so successful that we have kept on doing it.
"We held our Ultimate Angler competition two weeks ago and last weekend we held the junior one which was capped off by an evening of good food and live music.
"Without a shadow of a doubt this was our most successful Fish n Frolics yet, the entire sports field was full and people kept of coming all throughout the day.
"It's not a massive festival, it's a community and family affair through and through."
Over 30 children spent Friday and Saturday fishing on the Stour, for many of whom it was their first time.
Mr Fleming continued: "All of the kids enjoyed themselves and we had a new ultimate angler this year.
"The weather played a huge part, Fish n Frolics is notorious for rain, in 11 years I think we have had sun only twice, so that made a big difference.
"More and more people keep coming back every year and it was a great day out and a good laugh.
"We had no complaints apart from the state of the loos.
"We had some great bands and Shipston people are great, they came in their droves.
"Someone did ask me whether it was the last one, I said I might be getting old but it won't be the last one."
In previous years anglers have caught over 100lbs of fish but this year each anglers caught around 3/4lbs.
