Southerndown care home held its own Olympic Opening Ceremony to celebrate the start of the Paris Games.
On a sunny afternoon, residents, staff, and visitors at the Chipping Norton home displayed their patriotism with a parade decorated with flags and team bunting.
The ceremony took place in the home's beautiful gardens, marked by the lighting of their very own Olympic torch on the same day the worldwide event started.
The afternoon had a competitive edge with residents getting involved in games of football, golf, archery, basketball and hoop shooting, among other team events.
Those attending also enjoyed a sumptuous BBQ that included burgers, chicken, kebabs, team-coloured cakes and non-alcoholic drinks like homemade lemonade.
Sports enthusiasts at Southerndown are expected to continue their indulgence in the Summer's highlights, following the compelling Euros and Wimbledon.
The home's interactive Olympic celebration underscores the sense of community and the spirit of sportsmanship among residents and staff.
Arlene Acuavera, general manager at the home, said: "We have loved having our own Olympic Opening Ceremony, and starting the Olympics off by taking part in some of our own sports in the home.
"The team go above and beyond with everything we lay on for the people we look after and we can’t wait to host more Olympic themed activities in the coming weeks."
