A PLANNING law has been referred to as Clarkson's Clause after the popular celebrity used it in his farming show.
The law, 'Class R' allows the change of use of agricultural buildings to certain commercial uses without the need of full planning permission.
The Clarkson's Clause was referred to by a potential client of The Rural Planning Company (TRPC).
Hannah Moule, Founder of The Rural Planning Company, said: "Class R offers farmers a valuable opportunity to repurpose up to 1000 m2 of existing agricultural buildings for commercial use without the complexities of a full planning application.
"The permitted development process is relatively straightforward and efficient.
"Whilst not directly responsible, Jeremy Clarkson has undoubtedly raised awareness of Class R and its potential benefits for farm diversification."
Clarkson's Farm is filmed near Chadlington.
