A MAN has been charged with burglary after breaking into a Cotswold village shop.
The break-in happened on Monday (July 22) night at the Blockley Village Shop.
David Taylor from Rugby, has been charged with burglary and has been remanded in custody ahead of his court appearance.
Blockley Village Shop has since boarded up its front door.
A Gloucestershire Constabulary spokesperson said: "A man has been charged following a break-in at a property in Blockley.
"Police had been called to an address in Bell Lane on Monday night (July 22).
"David Taylor, aged 52 and of Spring Street, Rugby, was charged with burglary.
"He was remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court at a later date."
