Unpaid carers are being invited to share their thoughts on services which support them.

Gloucestershire County Council and NHS Gloucestershire are asking adult carers over the age of 18 to take part in the carers survey.

The council has said that the feedback it receives will help shape future services across the county.

The council and the NHS fund and promote the services of the Gloucestershire Carers Hub, including information and advice, training and wellbeing sessions, carers assessments, breaks, emotional support and counselling, and even a carer's discount scheme.

The goal of the survey is to determine if these services are effectively aiding carers enough in their duties.

The survey is available to all adult carers, whether they look after a family member, partner, or friend who requires help due to physical or mental illness, addiction, disability or frailty.

Receipt of Carer's Allowance is not a requirement.

To share their views, carers can visit https://haveyoursaygloucestershire.uk.engagementhq.com/carers-survey-2024.

A separate survey for professionals who provide support to unpaid carers is also available (https://haveyoursaygloucestershire.uk.engagementhq.com/carers-professionals-survey-2024).

Cllr Stephan Fifield, cabinet member for adult social care delivery at Gloucestershire County Council, said: "Carers do a fantastic job selflessly providing support for friends and family day in day out, keeping some of our most vulnerable people safe.

"Caring for someone is demanding and difficult work and we want to make sure that carers can receive the right support when they need it most.

"I would encourage all carers to make sure they have their say, as we really want to hear their views to help shape future services."

The carers survey will close on Wednesday, September 4 at 5pm.
