Star Wars actor Anton Lesser appeals for Shipston charity

Anton Lesser has reminded people to buy their remembrance butterflies before Shipston Home Nursing's annual butterfly walk. 

The butterflies will be personalised and placed around Blackberry Farm, located between Halford and Honington.

Money raised from the butterflies and the butterfly walk will go towards allowing the charity to continue to provide free hospice care to residents of Shipston and the surrounding area. 

The actor who has appeared in Game of Thrones and Star Wars appeared in a video shot by students at Shipston High School.

Kate Bamford, fundraising manager for Shipston Home Nursing, said: "The students did an excellent job, demonstrating great skill and enthusiasm.

"It’s wonderful to see the community coming together to support such a meaningful cause.

"By purchasing a metal butterfly, you can honour a loved one at our Blackberry Farm butterfly event.

"The butterflies will be displayed in a dedicated area next month, each featuring a personalised message tag, and will be yours to keep afterwards."

The Butterfly Walks will be at Blackberry Farm from July 12 to 15. 

The year 8 students were able to produce the video on Tuesday (June 25).

Mrs Bamford continued: "Anton Lesser is a patron of ours and is always really supportive. 

"We contacted the school, they are in Shipton, we are in Shipston and it's a fantastic community.

"We gave the students an outline and they were really excited. 

"Four pupils were involved, they were happy to meet Anton and it was lovely to be involved.

"Anyone can come along to the butterfly walks, you don't have to have bought a butterfly. 

"Hopefully it will be a sunny weekend and it will be great for a picnic and a dog walk. 

"It will be really lovely and everyone's welcome."

Shipston Home Nursing was founded in 1997 and provides free high-quality palliative care to patients with life-limiting illnesses in their own homes. 

The last day to buy the butterflies is today (June 28).
