A GIFT and lifestyle shop in the Cotswolds has been ranked amongst the best in the country after making it to the finals of The Gift Awards.
The Cotswold Snug in Moreton in Marsh made the finals for the Newcomer Gift Retailer of the Year award.
This ranks the shop within the top seven in the country.
Melissa Blundell, owner of The Cotswold Snug said: "Last year we won a Muddy Stiletto but it's crazy that we made the finals.
"To make the final seven for the best newcomer in the whole country is amazing.
"It's nice to get the recognition for all the hard work.
"I am so proud and grateful to have the support of my family, my husband, my two girls as well as all the locals who are really supportive and welcoming."
The Cotswold Snug celebrates its three year anniversary in July after setting up shop in the Old Market Way arcade.
Mrs Blundell admitted that it was a risk to open the store after covid, but said that it is doing really really well.
Mrs Blundell continued: "It's a shame that I couldn't make the awards evening but I'm chuffed and proud as this is a big achievement for a small independent business.
"We sell all sorts of things including Cotswold themed gifts, we also support six local businesses.
"People always say that there's something for everyone.
"If I'm asked for something three times by different people then I try to provide."
The name of the shop comes from its location and the atmosphere that Mrs Blundell tries to provide.
Mrs Blundell said: "Any recognition is a massive boost to the store.
"The Cotswold Snug is not located on the high street and so we get the same level of footfall.
"I'm surprised there's nothing else in town that has a little gift shop that's affordable.
"A lot of gift shops in the area have the Cotswold price tags.
"Everyone who comes through the door is greeted with a smile and a hello.
"Taking the time to chat with customers makes a huge difference and now a lot of my customers I class as friends."
