A Chipping Norton care home is marking Mental Health Awareness Week with messages of support.

Residents and staff at Barchester's Southerndown care home discussed how they could help others, with some great quotes being shared to bring a smile to everyone's faces.

The week, which was held from Monday, May 13 to Sunday, May 19, was launched 23 years ago by the Mental Health Foundation.

Since its inception, it has grown into one of the most recognized mental health initiatives both in the UK and around the world.

The home's general manager, Arlene Aquavera said: "Mental Health Awareness Week is a really worthwhile initiative, bringing people together to share experiences, memories and talk about our feelings.

"The lonelier we feel, the more we are at risk of mental health problems so it is really important to reach out to loved ones, friends and neighbours to ensure we support each other as much as possible."
