A housing company has put thousands of pounds towards community projects in Chipping Norton.

Each year Cottsway offers a Community Fund, worth £30,000, to go towards the work of people, charities and voluntary groups in the area.

15 projects have received financial support from the company in 2023-24, including Transition Chipping Norton's Youth4Future project, which received £2,500, and Home-Start's initiative in Banbury, Bicester, and Chipping Norton to deliver one-to-one family support, which received £1,690.

The fund is also available to support Cottsway customers who wish to learn new skills and improve their job prospects.

Grants of up to £250 are available to help pay for training and coaching courses, qualifications, and learning support materials, which two customers benefited from in 2023-24.

Pat Box, manager of Yellow Submarine’s Witney Café, said: “We’re so grateful for Cottsway helping us out when our milkshake and smoothie machine suddenly needed replacing recently, and for its wonderful, continuing support over the years.

"We look forward to working together for many more years to come.”

Community investment officer at the company, Lorna Jones, said: "It’s so encouraging that we are able to help fund so many worthwhile causes through our community fund – it makes a real difference to the people around us and its lovely to be able to play a part in positively impacting the community.

"By offering our customers the chance to place their votes, we know that the money is going towards the causes that matter most to them."

The company has now opened its fund for applications for 2024-25, again making available a funding pot of £30,000.

Interested parties can apply on the company's website (www.cottsway.co.uk/fund).
