On May 18, thousands will flock to Witney for the special 10th anniversary of its acclaimed Witney Festival of Food and Drink.
This year the festival, universally famed for its celebration of local gourmet, is located at St Mary's Church, OX28 4AW, and Church Green, the festivities begin at 9.30am and last until 4.30pm.
The community-organized charity event organizes a spread of more than 60 stalls manned by small independent producers and retailers. These will offer festival-goers a variety of locally produced food and beverages, a plethora of street food options, and a pop-up UE café.
BBC Radio Oxford Breakfast Club presenter Sophie Law will inaugurate the festival, giving it a spirited start.
A live music tent will host acts such as Buttercross Ukueles, Cozier, Dr Robert, Ryan Clayton, Jaybirds, Mansfield Smith, Gordon MacCay and Colin Greenway.
There will also be presentations on the performance arena on Church Green by groups such as Menssana Martial Arts Team, StageCoach, Nemo’s Gym Display team, Witney Town Band, and Ducklington Morris.
For families, the festival caters to younger audiences with an array of children's activities, including a Chocolate Genie Workshop.
Proceeds raised from WFOFAD will be spent on maintaining and renewing St Mary’s, Witney’s ancient house of prayer.
