An angler smashed records for Oxfordshire after reeling in a carp that weighed 58 pounds.
Michael Ball was fishing Linear Fisheries' Gaunts Lake near Witney when he landed the fisheries' and the county's largest resident.
The colossal mirror gave Mr Ball a massive new personal best in the process.
The much sought-after “The Albert”, which is the fish all of the approximately 200 members long to catch, weighed in at a massive 58lb on the nose.
During the same session Mr Ball had also caught a further six carp including three around 20 pounds and one around 30 pounds.
Linear Fisheries, between Stanton Harcourt and A415 Witney Road, is known not only in Oxfordshire but across the UK and offers 17 different fishing spots.
