“I REMEMBER that day like it was yesterday,” said an alleged victim in a sexual assault trial.

Vicky Butler, 32, is on trial accused of sexually assaulting two young girls when he was in his early 20s in Witney.

He has denied the offences – four counts of assault a girl under the age of 13, two counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by penetration, and one count of rape - and is on trial at Oxford Crown Court.

One of the alleged victims, who is now a woman, gave evidence in front of a jury on Wednesday (March 21).

She said on the day of one of the alleged incidents, she was wearing her school uniform when Butler came up behind her.

“It hurt a lot,” she said. “It happened again and again and again. It was easily over 10 times. He managed to get me to the floor and he managed to get my trousers down.

“All I remember was that he managed to get me to the floor and he was on top of me. He took my underwear down but not completely off.

“I was petrified and ran away. He shouted at the time, he wanted me to go back. It hurt. He said nothing while it was going on.”

On on the alleged occasions, the woman said Butler had helped her carry a television upstairs and then kissed her but Butler’s barrister suggested the story was fabricated as the woman did not have a television in that room.

During cross-examination, Butler’s barrister said: “You said the first time he kissed you was when he helped you carry the television upstairs, I’m suggesting there was no television.”

The woman denied this and said she remembered the television well, adding: “It was a big one, I was child and I couldn’t carry it.”

Butler’s barrister then asked why the woman hadn’t told anyone about the alleged assault at the time.

She said: “It was not something to brag about, my mother was never around, I had no one to tell, I had one friend.”

Later in the trial, the boyfriend of one of the alleged victims stormed out during his witness evidence after getting emotional.

He said:  “Basically, he’s a dirty n****. She said he sexually assaulted her.”

When being cross-examined, he became emotional, calling the defence barrister names. “How do you sleep at night protecting something like that,” he said before storming out.
