A WOMAN has died and two people are in a life threatening condition following a collision on the M4 yesterday morning.
Emergency services were called to the M4 westbound between junctions 15 (Swindon) and 16 (Royal Wootton Bassett) at approximately 11.50am following a report that a Volvo S40 had left the carriageway and collided with a tree.
The front seat passenger, a woman in her 60s from Oxford, sadly died at the scene.
The male driver and a female passenger aged in her 20s have both been taken to Southmead Hospital in a life threatening condition.
A male passenger aged in his 30s sustained an arm injury.
Specialist trained officers are supporting the next of kin of those involved and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
