A MAN in his 50s died after a tree fell on his car near Cirencester yesterday afternoon as high winds from Storm Henk hit the region.
He was driving on the A433 Tetbury Road on Tuesday, January 2 when a large tree fell on his vehicle around 3.15pm near the junction with the A429 for Kemble.
SWNS released pictures of police officers investigating the scene this morning.
Emergency services including an air ambulance attended the incident.
Despite the efforts of those at the scene, the man from the Bath area died.
His next of kin and the coroner have been informed.
The road remains closed this morning, Wednesday, January 3 as recovery and investigation work continue.
Motorists have been advised to find alternative routes.
Anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to officers has been asked to provide information online by completing an online form on Gloucestershire police's website quoting incident 276 of January 2.
