The Cotswolds' New Year celebration will see a mix of cultural offerings.

These activities range from comedy nights to a travel event, and a classic theatre show with a larger-than-life beanstalk thrown in.

Wootton by Woodstock Comedy Night

Wootton by Woodstock Comedy Night is kickstarting 2024 with stand-up comedians including Jon Wagstaffe, Esther Manito, Alex Kealey and headlined by Mike Cox.

Doors open at 7.30pm at the Wootton Village Hall, Church Street, for an 8pm start on January 6.

Frankenstein

Also on the roster is an ageless spectacle for audiences aged between 'six to 106'.

The Rain or Shine Theatre Company presents a comedic rendition of the Gothic classic, 'Frankenstein'. The production sees Victor Frankenstein embark on a scientific quest, assisted by his faithful companion, Igor.

The play will be held at the Sandhurst Village Hall on January 6 at 4pm.

Cheltenham Travel Festival

Adding some variety to the winter schedule is the Cheltenham Travel Festival which sets sail on January 6.

In association with JRNY Magazine, the festival will have UK travel experts for a day of travel talks, photography masterclasses, and holiday competitions and giveaways.

The festival is open from 10.30am to 5pm and again from 6pm to 10pm.

Jack and the Beanstalk

Keeping up the spirit of the season, Tread the Boards Theatre Company is holding a classic pantomime performance of 'Jack and the Beanstalk'.

With songs, dance routines, comedy and audience participation involved, the pantomime will run until January 7 at the Cidermill Theatre.

Ticket prices range between £12 to £60.
