A popular Shipston band has taken a step forward after appointing a new musical director.

Shipston Town Band held their first rehearsal under new director Alex Bland's supervision on November 1.

The band is excited for their upcoming Christmas Concert, and they are setting their sights on a competition in 2024.

Mr Bland, being new to the group, brought a fresh perspective to his first practice session.

The community is warmly invited to join the festivities at the band's Christmas concert on December 10 in Shipston's Townsend Hall, with no fee to pay on entry.

Looking towards 2024, the band is eager to tackle the contest piece, certain of a harmonious future under Alex's steering.

Invitations to brass players or percussionists interested in joining the group during this new era are open.
