A COTSWOLD care home has celebrated other cultures by holding its own Culture Day.
Southerndown in Chipping Norton hosted a day where staff, who originate from different parts of the world, adorned their traditional attire, serving up Indian and Philippines delicacies accompanied by authentic music.
The care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, which is one of the largest care providers supporting older people in the UK, with over 11,000 residents across 200 homes staying for short breaks to long term stays.
Southerndown's deputy manager, Subra, and senior carers all donned their traditional dress to raise funds for community food hub The Chippy Larder.
Merisha, a senior carer, displayed her artistic flair on the day, decorating residents' and staff's hands with her beautiful Henna designs.
Residents, their family members and staff also watched a variety of unique traditional dances from across the globe.
The residents found the grand display of cultural diversity to be a delight, especially getting to see the traditional dresses from various regions of India and the Philippines.
Everyone hugely enjoyed the afternoon, articulating their fascination and appreciation for the multi-cultural performances.
General manager at Snowdrop Place care home, Shilpa Nair said: "This has been a huge amount of fun for everyone and we are looking forward to hosting more in the future".
A resident echoed this sentiment, saying: "It was an honour to have the opportunity to watch the care staff perform and share their culture with us".
