A Cotswolds-based singer who has performed for Tom Cruise and Sir Roger Moore is releasing a new Christmas single.
D’Artagnan’s latest song, Merry Christmas Darling, was written for his fiance and will be released in November.
The video, available to watch now on YouTube, even features pictures of D’Artagnan proposing to his girlfriend on the ice skating rink at Hampton Court Palace.
The couple had enjoyed their first date at the same venue a year earlier.
D’Artagnan, from Teddington, released his debut album Crush Hour in 2019 and has since achieved airtime on more than 100 local FM radio stations across the UK.
He says he is “always” playing live somewhere and has gigs coming up in Bourton-on-the-Water, Tewkesbury, Hanley Swan, Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Campden - more information is on his website dartagnanmusic.com.
His career took off after he and his brother, who were dancers at the time, decided to try their luck finding work as singers in London.
“We had cards made up and took them to hotels in London,” said D’Artagnan.
“One restaurant manager told us to sing to his wife, as she’d been having a bad day. So we burst into Moon River, she told us we were angels and he said ‘if my wife is happy, I’m happy’.”
That encounter led to the brothers performing at Sir Roger Moore’s birthday party.
“He was a really nice bloke,” said D’Artagnan. “We even bumped into him a few years later skiing in Switzerland and he remembered us.”
