A NEW railway shop has opened in The Cotswolds.
The new shop opened in Broadway earlier this month at the Gloucestershire, Warwickshire Steam Railway (GWWSR).
Railway users will be able to use the new shop on Platform One.
Staff said they are delighted with the latest addition to the train station.
The shop opened on July 8 during the second day of the railway’s annual Summer Heritage Diesel Gala.
Visitors to Broadway will be able to purchase a wide variety of items, including souvenirs, gifts, books, GWR-branded merchandise and model railway-related products.
The official opening, which took place at 11:30, was attended by GWSR PLC President Pete Waterman and some of the GWSR PLC directors.
Richard Johnson, GWSR PLC chairman, attended the opening.
Store manager Julia Harwood and Pete Waterman, GWSR PLC President also attend.
Mr Johnson said: “It's delightful to have been asked to open our second retail shop, at Broadway. Our retail operations make a considerable financial contribution to helping us run our railway.”
Miss Harwood, shop manager, said: “I am really delighted that we have our second shop at Broadway.
"Lots of our passengers have asked for us to have a shop here for a while, and it is already proving popular.”
