A COTSWOLD town will host its first-ever Pride festival.
Chippy Pride takes place in Chipping Norton this weekend, the first time the West Oxfordshire town has hosted such an event.
Visitors can expect drag queens, live music and freebies, with the event getting underway shortly before 11am on Saturday, July 1.
“We can't wait to celebrate PRIDE and our wonderful accepting and inclusive family of friends in Chippy on Saturday!” said a spokesperson for the Town Council.
Kicking things off is a local jazz duo, Will and Luke, who will open up the event before the Mayor and Deputy Mayor give opening speeches.
Later in the day there will be performances from members of the Chipping Norton Choral Society and the Butercross Ukulele Group, as well as the Got2B Youth Band, who are responsible for bringing Pride to Chipping Norton.
Hosting the festivities will be Lady B, a former Chipping Norton School student who now travels the word as a drag queen.
Alongside the entertainment will be a variety of stalls offering information, advice, freebies and creative actives.
Meanwhile, the Fox Inn has been named the Pride Pub for the day.
