A man who had his much-treasured car stolen is urging others to be on alert.
James Barrett’s Land Rover Defender was stolen after he parked it at Kingham railway station.
It was Mr Barrett’s “prized possession” and he is now urging other car owners to be cautious.
He said: “They are taking people's pride and joy, that many of us have worked hard on.
“For me, this was bought with money my father left me when he died, so it is extra painful.
“Please encourage locals to keep a vigilant eye out for any suspicious activity and if anyone sees anything suspicious please report it to the police immediately.”
Mr Barrett had parked the car at Kingham station on March 8, and returned to pick it up a week later, on March 15.
The car, which is worth between £15,000 and £20,000, was stolen at some point during this week.
The theft was reported to British Transport Police who have since stopped investigating.
A spokesperson said: “On March 15, a report was received stating a vehicle had been stolen from Kingham railway station after being parked there since March 8.
“Following an investigation into this incident, which included viewing CCTV footage covering the station’s car park, the case has been closed. This will be reviewed if new evidence comes to light.”
