Plans for dozens of new homes in Shipston have been revealed.
Piper Homes, in partnership with Lone Star Land, has announced plans to build 34 homes on the land off Webb Road.
The homebuilders hope that such a project would help address the need for more housing in the area as well as create jobs and business opportunities, in turn stimulating the local economy.
Richard Burke, land director at Lone Star Land, added: “We have been engaging with Shipston Town Council for over two years now on this scheme and these proposals are the culmination of the engagement of all parties involved in those discussions and the drive to address the specific local housing need identified in the Shipston-on-Stour Housing Need Survey 2021.”

Piper Homes will be submitting a detailed planning application for a mix of one, two and three-bedroom bungalows and dormer bungalows and houses, with 12 of the properties designated as affordable dwellings.
The development is aimed at older locals that are looking to downsize without leaving the area.
The developers have stated that because of the number of smaller homes proposed in the plans, it has been possible to accommodate 34 houses on the site “without compromising density or character”.

The proposed new homes will feature energy-efficient designs intended to reduce running costs and enhance the comfort of future residents.
The development will also include landscaped grounds and recreational areas, and green open spaces.
Chantelle Williams, land director for Piper Homes said: “We hope to bring much-needed new housing to the area, and are particularly proud to be providing 12 affordable homes within the plans.
“Piper Homes is keen to ensure that the proposed development is both attractive and imaginatively designed, while respecting the character of this edge of town, semi-rural setting.
“We are confident that this development will be a great addition to the Shipston-on-Stour community.”

It is planned that a Public Consultation Exhibition will be held locally, giving residents a chance to engage and discuss the proposals with Piper Homes and Lone Star Land.
