A Chipping Norton man jailed for sexual assault has appealed his sentence.
Ergun Kesgin, of Middle Row, is set to spend six months behind bars after touching a woman without consent.
The 43-year-old appealed the sentence after being committed to six months imprisonment at Luton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 20.
Kesgin was found guilty in January of sexual assault following an incident in Shefford , Bedfordshire, on March 3 last year.
Alongside the prison sentence, he was handed a restraining order which prevents him from contacting the victim for two years.
He must also pay compensation of £500 and must register with the police in accordance with the Sexual Offences Act 2003 for seven years.
His appeal against the sentence will be dealt with at Luton Crown Court.
Kesgin made an application for bail pending the outcome of the appeal.
However, this was refused.
