An 80-year-old Tewkesbury man choked to death as he and his son were eating toast together at his home, a coroner heard today.
Paramedics who were called to the home of Graham Sanders of East st, Tewkesbury, on January 22nd were unable to resuscitate him, said assistant Gloucestershire Coroner Roland Wooderson.
He formally opened an inquest into Mr Sanders’ death on Thursday, February 9, and adjourned it to a date to be fixed.
Mr Wooderson said a post-mortem examination had found that Mr Sanders died from food inhalation and coronary atheroma.
