A Cotswold chippy has reopened after more than seven weeks.
Russell’s Fish and Chips relaunched today, having been closed since the start of December.
In this time the chip shop has undergone a refurbishment and even got itself some new owners.
But there will familiar faces behind the till, with head chef Emily Draper now taking on the role of manager.
“We are super excited to reopen and see all our lovely customers’ faces again,” she said.
The restaurant had to close in December with the fryers no longer in working order.
At first Emily feared they would not be able to reopen until April, as they would need a new frying range built to order.
Luckily she found a company called Middleton who were able to come out to take measurements and get to work on the new fryers.
Knowing it would still be a few weeks until they reopened, Emily started to think about other changes they could make.
“With a date in mind I started to think about the time I had and what I could do to change the look of our restaurant, so I cracked on and redecorated the lot with the help of my supervisor Summah Hope.
“We manage to get everything we wanted to do just in time for our new fryers to be put in on Monday (January 9).
“Now everything is done we have welcomed back all our staff members and are reopening on Friday with a fresh look and a new menu along with a brand new kitchen.”

Shortly before Russell’s was forced to close, it was announced that the chippy, along with a neighbouring and restaurant, had been sold for around £2 million.
Andrew and Gaynor Riley bought Russell’s of Broadway in 2004 and enjoyed 18 succesful years before deciding to sell up.
The new owner, former architect Roger Dudley, said: “Purchasing Russell’s was always a dream of ours.
“We love the building and the outstanding food which is lovingly created there.
“Broadway has a friendly community, it’s wonderful, and the High Street and Village Green have a unique charm and that’s exactly why we’ve moved there.”
